What do peacocks eat?

  1. Recently I noticed that there are several peacocks that live and wander around my neighborhood. They look like theyre hungry and I was thinking about putting out some food for them. What should I give them?

Cracked corn, Wheat ,Peacocks will also eat just about anything they can get their beaks into, so be sure that garbage and debris such as paper is not left in their reach. They have been known to eat the cats food and the dogs food also, and while it did not do them any harm, I would not recommend it. They will also eat grubs and green grass and love you for it in return! Watch your flowers though, as they will mow down a whole garden full in a very short time.

  2. We are thinking of getting some peacocks as pets. We would keep them on our farm, where they would have a ton of area and trees and space. However, we could not fence them in or tend to the every single day (but about 5 out of 7 days). We are worried that they might eat our garden, but would really enjoy them if it could work out!

The first one I think is the prettiest.
A neighbor of mine had about 5-10 peacocks when I was growing up and I remember watching them run around a very large yard/ pasture. So your environment sounds good to me, though im no expert. they can be good compainion animals but they might not get along with other pets.

is a great site where you can buy peafowl and learn everything you need to know about them. good luck!

  3. What are the excat name of the peacock colors??

    Answer by Katie
It depends on the peacock. This website has blue, green, brown, and yellow (and other). But they describe the different hues. Java green, Indo-Chinese green, Burmese green, Buford bronze, etc.
